Internship Opportunity (Volunteer)
Get experience. Make an impact. Grow with us.
Are you ready to get your foot in the door, gain meaningful experience, and make a real difference in your community? Terra Roots Co. is offering an exciting unpaid internship for someone who’s eager to learn, grow, and support our mission of connecting people with local food, preserving traditions, and building community.
We know the job market can feel like a catch-22: no experience, no job—but no job, no experience. That’s why we’re opening the door to mentor someone who's motivated, curious, and ready to pitch in. In return, we’ll offer hands-on training, mentorship, and a solid reference to help launch your next chapter.
About the Role:
As our intern, you’ll work directly with the founders of Terra Roots Co. and be involved in a wide variety of projects. Your tasks will include:
Updating and maintaining our website (no coding required—just an eye for detail)
Creating content for social media and newsletters
Assisting with admin tasks like answering emails and tracking sign-ups
Supporting our community workshops and produce box program
Learning about grassroots business, local food systems, and event coordination
Estimated Time Commitment:
5–10 hours per week depending on your availability and what’s happening at Terra Roots that week. We’ll work with you to create a flexible schedule that fits your life.
You are:
Organized, reliable, and a clear communicator
Comfortable with Canva, Squarespace, Instagram, and Google Workspace (or willing to learn!)
Passionate about local food, sustainability, or community-building
Looking for a meaningful way to gain experience and mentorship
What You’ll Gain:
Real-world experience across marketing, admin, and event coordination
A flexible schedule that works around your life
One-on-one mentorship and support
A strong reference and portfolio of work for future opportunities
The satisfaction of supporting a community focused organization that’s making a big impact
Location:
Primarily remote with occasional in-person support at events in Port Coquitlam and surrounding areas.
To Apply:
Send us a short email to terrarootsco(at)gmail.com with:
A few lines about why you’re interested
What you’re hoping to learn
What your availability looks like for the summer
A link to your resume or a brief summary of your experience (optional—we care more about your enthusiasm than a polished resume!)
Deadline to apply: Sunday June 1st
We look forward to hearing from you!
